Harnessed water energy is the green future to power the world. At Flumill we have been developing our patented Flumill systems as a robust means of harvesting water/tidal streams and generating electrical power to the Grid since 2002. Unlike most, if not all current proposed tidal power systems we at Flumill ignored that which operates in air and concentrated solely on what would be best for water/tidal streams.

Many of the current proposed tidal systems utilize some form of the Kaplan (Propeller type) System, whereas the Flumill system is based on a solid helix screw specifically designed for water based streams. Water streams are almost 1000 times more powerful than air and it therefore requires a very robust system to operate in such conditions.

Our goal is to develop the most robust systems that can produce renewable electrical energy at a price that is substantially less than comparable systems. The Flumill systems can operate in Ocean/tidal streams at less than 1m/s flow and can be adapted for use in rivers
